A Day on The Riverfront at Camp Rocky Mountain House
riverfront, camping

One of the perks of choosing Black Sheep Camp Rocky Mountain House, is the riverfront location! Located right on the bank of the North Saskatchewan River, it’s an ideal place to spend the day with family and friends. We have some essentials that you should bring for your day.

Kootenay River Essentials

Sun Protection

With the sun getting stronger season after season, sun protection is even more important. Since you will be in the water, make sure that it’s water-resistant and you re-apply frequently. Aim for a high SPF and bring sunglasses as well!

Dry Bag

If you plan to do one of the many activities on the river such as Kayak, Paddleboard, Jet ski or simply float, a dry bag is a must. These handy bags are waterproof and will keep your sensitive items dry. Great for phones and wallets, we think these bags are a must for any river day.

Food/Snacks

If you are heading out on the river for a while, it’s important to pack a lunch and some snacks to keep you going. If you are staying close to your tent, glamping site or RV, you can always head back for lunch. Water is always a must to carry as this heat can get to anyone fast.

Water shoes

The river’s current can move quick at times, having proper fitting water shoes is a good idea. You have no idea how many flip-flops have gone floating down, never to be seen again. They also protect against the rocks and other debris.

Your next sunny day by the riverfront is just around the corner, so book a site today!
